GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs led by as many as 16 points in the second half against No. 22 Jones College here Thursday but couldn't hold on as Jones won the MACCC contest, 72-70.
Holmes plays Miss. Delta on Monday night in Moorhead at 6 p.m.
The Bulldogs led the Bobcats, 38-31, at halftime and then led 53-37 midway the second half before Jones started their run. The Bobcats outscored the Bulldogs 41-32 in the second half.
Darrius Clark led the Bulldogs with 21 points. Caleb Campbell followed with 18 points and Tyler Talley had 14. Charlie Jones led the Bulldogs with 14 rebounds while Talley had nine and Clark had eight.
Holmes shot 44.6 percent from the floor (25-of-56) from the floor and 72.7 percent from the free throw line (16-of-22).
