GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs started the 2023 MACCC schedule off with a 70-63 win over the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs here Thursday night.
Holmes, now 9-2, will play Northwest on Monday at 6 p.m.
Holmes led 37-21 at halftime, and Gulf Coast outscored Holmes, 42-33, in the second half, but it wasn't enough with Holmes pulling out the win.
Caleb Campbell led the Bulldogs with 22 points while Dacory Porter had 13, and Raymond Adams and Jalen Tatum each had 10. Tatum had six rebounds in the game.
Holmes shot 44.8 percent from the floor (26-of-58), 38.5 percent from the three-point line (5-of-13) and 81.3 percent from the free throw line (13-of-16).
