RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell to 0-2 in the MACCC with a 5-1 loss to Meridian here Tuesday.

Holmes will play Itawamba at 4 p.m. Friday in Ridgeland.

Meridian scored two goals in the first half to lead 2-0 at halftime. They added three in the second half before the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the final minute on a goal from Ahmad Omar on an assist from Tyler Leach.

In a match last Friday at East Central, the Bulldogs fell 2-0 to East Central to open MACCC play in Decatur.
