RIDGELAND --- Sophomore midfielder Louie Richard scored two first half goals to help lead the Holmes Community College Bulldogs to a 3-1 win over East Mississippi Community College here Tuesday.
Holmes will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Hinds to begin MACCC play.
The Bulldogs scored in the 21st minute when Richard scored on an assist from Adrian Pearson. He struck again in the 31st minute on an assist from Thomas Martin to put Holmes up 2-0.
Josiah Arroyo scored in the 33rd minute on an assist from Landon Slaven to put Holmes up 3-0 at halftime.
East Mississippi scored in the 67th minute to end all scoring.
John Smith finished with five saves in the match and no goals. Gatling Myers had two saves and gave up one goal.
