Holmes goes 1-8 and 0-9 vs. Meridian in opener

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College men's and women's tennis teams hosted Meridian here Monday. Holmes fell 1-8 in men's action and 0-9 in women's action.

On the men's side, Lathan Burchfield and Carson Jones won in doubles action 8-5. Trey Hallmark, J.D. Camillo, Trace Dye, Carter Knowles, Burchfield and Jones fell in singles action. Burchfield took Grant Frank to a tiebreaker and fell 6-3, 5-7 and 6-10. In the remaining doubles matches, Hallmark and Wooldridge and Camillo and Knowles fell.

On the women's side, Ava Peters, Macie Manasco, M.G. Gregg, Cayley Tiller, Allie Williamson and Rana Page Davis fell in singles action while Peters-Greg, Cayley Tiller-Davis and Allie Williamson-Manasco fell in doubles action.
