Holmes battles but falls twice to Itawamba in Fulton
FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs fell twice here Tuesday to the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians but held a 6-2 lead going into the fifth inning of game two but couldn't hang on. Itawamba won 8-3 and 7-6 in eight innings.
Holmes travels to East Central on Friday at 3/5 p.m.
In game one, Katie Dana suffered the loss. She went one inning and gave up five runs on three hits with one walk. Brooklyne Eubanks went five innings and gave up three runs on four hits with one strikeout and three walks. Teagun Barnes led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits including a double.
In game two, Mary Clayton Burrell went eight innings and suffered the loss. Skyler Busbea and Dana each had two hits with Dana adding a double.
