Lady Bulldogs take three of four games in Hinds CC Tournament

VICKSBURG --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs took three games in the Hinds Tournament on Friday and Saturday played here at Sports Force Park. The Lady Bulldogs defeated St. Charles 8-7 in eight innings and Baton Rouge, 8-0 on Friday and defeated Metropolitan 6-4 and fell to Kirkwood, 12-4, on Saturday.

Holmes will play Arkansas State on Friday at 2/4 p.m. in Goodman.

In game one Friday vs. St. Charles, Mollie Swilley got the start and went 6.1 innings. She gave up four runs on seven hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Chesney Beckham went 0.2 innings while Avery Roark went one inning. Lizzy Carpenter and Swilley each had two hits with Swilley adding ad oble. Blair Walsh had a double. 

In game two Friday, Annie Sartin got the start and went six innings. She gave up two hits in the game with three strikeouts. Gracie Williams, Maicee Coleman and Mhina Balthrop each had two hits with Williams and Balthrop each adding a double. Walsh had a triple. 

In game one Saturday vs. Metropolitan, Charlee Rose Tierce got the win in seven innings. She gave up four runs on eight hits with nine strikeouts and two walks. Meg Glasgow led with three hits including a triple.

In game two Saturday vs. Kirkwood, Avery Roark got the start and suffered the loss. She went two innings and gave up six runs on nine hits with a walk. Annie Sartin also pitched in the game. Meg Glasgow led with two hits.
