Lady Bulldogs get 82-80 OT win over Dolphins

GOODMAN --- After trailing Delgado Community College, 35-20, at halftime here Saturday, the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs battled back to tie the game at the end of regulation before picking up an 82-80 win in overtime.

Holmes returns to action on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. versus LSU-Eunice in Goodman. Holmes will also host East Mississippi Community College in the North Division opener at 6 p.m. in Goodman. You can watch both games at holmesccmedia.com.

Holmes' Jekalen Jones hit a huge bucket with 22 seconds to play to put Holmes up 80-78 in overtime before Myeisha Robinson hit two free throws to cushion the lead. Holmes then held on for the win. Ja'Breonia Veasey tied the game with 14 seconds left in regulation at 68.

Delgado led 23-9 after one period and then outscored the Lady Bulldogs 12-11 in the second period ot hold the 15-point lead at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs then outscored the Dolphins, 30-16, in the third and 18-17 in the fourth to tie the game and force overtime. Holmes outscored Delgado 14-12 in overtime for the win.
