Lady Bulldogs lose battle with LSUE, 93-91

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs battled hard with the Louisiana State University at Eunice Bengals here Tuesday night but despite shooting 50 percent from the floor, the Lady Bulldogs came up short, 93-91, in the final non-conference game of the year.

With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 4-7 overall. Holmes begins North Division play on Thursday at home versus East Mississippi at 6 p.m. You can watch the game live on holmesccmedia.com.

Holmes led 25-18 after one period, but LSUE outscored Holmes 39-25 in the second period to hold a 57-50 lead at halftime. Holmes then pulled within three at 76-73 after three periods and outscored them, 18-17, in the fourth, but it wasn't enough.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the floor (31-of-62), 41.7 percent from the three-point line (5-of-12) and 68.6 percent from the free throw line (24-of-35).

Ja'Breonia Veasey led the Lady Bulldogs with 22 points while Koryana Johnson had 19 and Jekalen Jones had 14.
