Lady Bulldogs begin season on Nov. 4 at Co-Lin
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs will be young and talented heading into the 2019 campaign with 12 freshmen and only one returning sophomore. The Lady Bulldogs open the season Monday at Copiah-Lincoln at 5:30 p.m.
Holmes finished last season with a 9-14 record.
Brysa Maxwell, a 5'9 guard/forward from Ackerman, is the only returning player for the Lady Bulldogs. Maxwell averaged nine points and six rebounds per game last season.
Freshman newcomers include: Judnissia Straughter, 5'5 guard from Monroe, La.; Jordyn Manning, 5'9 guard from Canton; Shawanda Gray, 5'6 guard from Enterprise; Jamaya Redd, 5'6 guard from Canton; Gabrielle Bunch, 5'9 guard from Laurel; Kierra Neal, 5'7 guard from Ferriday, La.; Jalaceia Smith, 5'9 guard/forward from Canton; Aeriel Edwards, 5'7 guard from Walnut Grove; Tniniyah Jones, guard/forward from Sallis; Nekeyvia McKenzie, 5'5 guard from Walls; Morgan Williams, 5'7 guard from Canton; and Zaniyah Bogan, 6'3 forward/center from Shannon.
Coach Jamilah Andrews returns for her 11th season at Holmes and her 7th as head coach. Assistant Coach Amber Clay is in her second year at Holmes.
