SUMMIT --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs' season came to an end here tonight after falling to the Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears, 72-56, in the Region XXIII Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the season 6-10. Holmes went into the Region Tournament as the No. 10 seed while the Lady Bears were the No. 7 seed. Southwest will advance to play Coahoma next week in Clarksdale.

Southwest led 17-10 after the first period and took the second period, 19-18, in the second period to lead 36-28 at halftime. The Lady Bears went up 55-41 after three periods after outscoring the Lady Bulldogs, 19-13, in the third. Southwest took the fourth period, 17-15.

Jordyn Manning led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points while Morgan Williams added 13. Gabrielle Bunch finished with nine while Zaniyah Bogan had eight.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 36.4 percent from the floor (20-of-55), 33.3 percent from the three-point line (6-of-18) and 62. 5 percent from the free throw line (10-of-16).
