NEW ORLEANS --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs scored 33 points in the first quarter and rolled to a 75-50 win over Delgado Community College here Monday.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs went to 7-1 on the season. Holmes hosts Pearl River at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Holmes led 33-10 after one period and 40-24 at halftime. Holmes outscored Delgado 35-26 in the second half for the big win.
Ally Alford led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points while Amaijah Smith had 12 and McKinna Smith had 11. Danielle Luckey and Smith each had seven rebounds.
The Lady Bulldogs shot 48.1 percent from the floor (25-of-52), 36.8 percent from the three point line (7-of-19) and 72 percent from the free throw line (18-of-25).
