RIDGELAND --- The No. 4 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a 7-0 MACCC win here Tuesday over East Central Community College.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 10-2-1 on the season and 5-0-1 in the MACCC. Holmes plays No. 1 Northwest on Friday at 1 p.m. in Ridgeland.
Holmes led 1-0 at halftime after a goal from Kate DeAngelo on an assist from Christina Guzman.
The Lady Bulldogs reeled off six goals in the second half including: Bailee Fairley goal and assist from Kristen Phillips, 50th minute; Guzman goal on a Rivers Gilreath assist, 52nd minute; Fairley goal on an Olivia Tribolet assist, 59th minute; Guzman goal on a Phillips assist, 67th minute; Kaylee Avant goal on an assist from Phillips; and a Brooklynn Samonski goal on an Abigail DeAngelo assist.
Katie Smith started in goal and East Central had no shots on goal.
