RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a 4-0 win here over the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Lady Bulldogs to move to 12-3-1 and 7-1-1 on the season.
Holmes will travel to Meridian on Friday at 7 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the 36th minute when Kristen Phillips scored on an assist from Bailee Fairley. Phillips then assisted Fairley a minute later to give the Lady Bulldogs a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Holmes went up 3-0 just after halftime when Brooklynn Samonski scored on a KK Morris assist. Samonski scored again in the 86th minute on a Phillips assist to end all scoring at 4-0.
Addi Roberts got the start in goal and picked up the win. She had five saves on five shots on goal. Katie Smith went 15 minutes and had one save on one shot on goal.
It was also Sophomore Day, Carley Dawkins, Sammi Doyle, Bailee Fairley, Jade Fleming, Christina Guzman, Aiyanah Jones, Stevie Kerns, KK Morris, Addi Roberts, Kristen Phillips, Katie Smith, Meagan Spencer and Olivia Tribolet were recognized.
