Lady Bulldogs get 4-0 semifinal win over Lady Wildcats

ELLISVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a 4-0 win here Thursday over the Pearl River Community College Wildcats to advance to the finals of the Region 23/Gulf South District Tournament.

With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 15-3-2 and will face the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers at 2 p.m. at Jones College. Northwest defeated Itawamba, 4-2, in the other semifinal.

Holmes got on the scoreboard in the 10th minute when KK Morris scored on an assist from Olivia Tribolet. The Lady Bulldogs added another goal in the 15th minute when Kristen Phillips scored on an assist from Bailee Fairley. Holmes led 2-0 at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs increased their lead to 3-0 in the 63rd minute when Phillips added her second goal of the day on an assist from Morris. Fairley got the Lady Bulldogs last goal in the 87th minute on an assist from Abigail DeAngelo.

Katie Smith started in goal and had nine saves in 68 minutes. Addi Roberts played in the last 22 and had two saves.
